Elan 09 is the designation for Corning 9013 glass. Even though Corning no longer makes 9013, it remains the benchmark of compression sealing glasses, however Elan 13 Glass is also a substitute for Corning 9013. Since this alkali barium glass does not contain lead, it is universally used in all ranges of hermetic packages such as transistor outline headers, telecom packages and multi-pin hermetic headers. The absence of lead makes it a perfect choice for the European market to comply with RoHS requirements.
